Using a password
Files and messages sent using Hexiosec Transfer are always encrypted, regardless of whether an additional password is applied. The encryption algorithms used (see File encryption and security FAQs) are very, very strong and no one could decrypt the files without the full sharing link, which includes the decryption key.
However, for sending very sensitive files, the sender may want the recipient to require two pieces of information in order to decrypt the files; a link/code and a password. Without the password, the link/code cannot be used. These two pieces of information must be sent separately; for example, emailing the link and sharing the password via a different service like Signal or WhatsApp.
The password cannot be changed after the link has been sent but it can be retrieved from the transfer page, accessible via the outbox.
The password must be sent by a different method to the link else the additional security benefit is lost.
